09 August, 2022

Scarborough, ON – Members at SKF Canada IAM Local 901 ratify a three-year agreement. The contract included wage increases in each year of the three-year agreement totalling 12%, along with a significant increase to the pension plan and bridging.

Increases to the personal time bank, dental, eye exam and vision, safety shoe allowance were some of the other gains made in this agreement. Many language gains were also achieved including a decrease in the sunset clause from 24 months to 12 months.

“The committee consisting of Blair McBratney, Gary Cranshaw and Bob Bennett did a great job at the bargaining table. The committee was focussed on our agenda, and they were able to address most of it successfully,” said IAM District 78 Business Representative Jim Snider. “This committee has negotiated numerous contracts with this employer, and we are pleased with the outcome of this round of negotiations.”

SKF is in Scarborough and supplies bearings, seals, and lubricants to the Canadian market.
