For Immediate Release

Montréal, QC – Canada’s largest airport union, the IAM, is growing again, with 250 new members at Swissport Canada at Pierre Elliot Trudeau International Airport in Montréal.

“The IAM welcomes all of these new members to their union,” said IAM Canadian General Vice President Stan Pickthall. “These workers sought out the IAM to be their union of choice. Our reputation for providing good service and first class representation to our members paved the way for us to be certified for this group.”

The new members include ground handlers, ground mechanics, storekeepers, and communications coordinator and operation officers. They are newest members of IAM Local Lodge 1751.

“The IAM representatives who will work with their brothers and sisters of Swissport Canada Incorporated, want to build a relationship of trust based on collaboration, listening and transparency,” explained IAM Grand Lodge Representative Michel Richer. “I would like to thank Nick Sifakis and members of IAM Local Lodge 1751 who were instrumental in this organizing victory.”
