Rob Jussila has been a member of IAM Local 692 for over 37 years and currently works as a journeyman partsperson for Finning (Canada) at the Ekati Diamond Mine in the Northwest Territories. In 2012, Rob applied for the IAM Scholarship to help with his daughter Allison’s expenses towards her bachelor’s degree. Allison was awarded one of the IAM Scholarships for 2013.

I’m very thankful to the IAM for their assistance which provided me more financial freedom throughout my undergraduate degree through the IAM scholarship program. The scholarship awarded to me allowed me to focus on my studies as well as community and volunteering endeavours. The focused effort of the IAM’s support assisted my efforts and ultimate success in being accepted into medical school.”
“I attended Simon Fraser University from 2013-2018 during which time I completed my Bachelor of Science with Honours and Distinction with a Joint Major in Chemistry and Molecular Biology and Biochemistry. I am currently studying medicine (MD) at the University of British Columbia’s Island Medical Program. I will finish my studies and graduate with my MD in the spring of 2022.
