A first collective agreement for members of the Stelia Mirabel unit

April 26, 2021

On Saturday, April 24, 2021, the new members of the Stelia Aerospace Canada unit (Local 712) at Mirabel ratified their first collective agreement.

“The major challenge of this negotiation was to improve and ensure the upkeep of working conditions as employers generally seek to reduce working conditions since the beginning of the pandemic,” said Éric Rancourt, Business Representative at District 11, responsible for the Stelia Mirabel unit. This first agreement provides job security, seniority protection and improvement of working conditions in general.

“As the public health measures forced the postponement of training activities for the representatives of the negotiating committee, they had to redouble their efforts,” said Éric Rancourt. “The three representatives of the committee, Francis Ouellet, Gilbert Labelle and Frederick Warren, did an excellent job. It was through hard work and professionalism that we reached such an agreement.”

The contract of employment is for 29 months and soon we will proceed to the election of 4 union delegates for this unit of 105 people.
