Site visit roadshow travels to Quebec

Montréal, QC – Canadian GVP Stan Pickthall continued his mission to meet face to face with as many members as possible this week by conducting workplace site visits in  the Montréal area.

Accompanied by Chief of Staff Gord Falconer, and IAM Québec coordinator David Chartrand and IAM Aerospace Coordinator Gerald Tremblay, GVP Pickthall will spend the week touring manufacturing facilities represented by the IAM. He will meet not only with the members on a one-to-one basis, he was also carry out discussions with representatives from IAM District 11 and IAM Local Lodges 1660, 1758, 869, 2738 and 712.

“This is a great opportunity for me to connect with our members in Quebec who make up more than a third of our Canadian membership,” explained Pickthall. “They have some issues which are unique to Québec and others which are familiar to the rest of our members. This is a chance to educate myself on their issues.”

GVP Pickthall will visit ABB which manufactures power generation control units for various customers, Plastic Decoverre a silk screening label manufacturer for the cosmetics industry, Warsila Canada a marine engine manufacturer, L3Mas which overhaul and repairs military and commercial aircraft and Rolls Royce which manufacturers aircraft engines for commercial airliners.

GVP Pickthall will be touring the Maritimes in the fall.
