Blainville, QC – If at first you don’t succeed try again and the second time was a charm for the organizers of IAM District Lodge 11. The workers at Aerospace Welding DCM have joined the IAM.
“What made this victory especially sweet was that the workers remembered us from the 2013 campaign and they were now ready to join the IAM,” explained IAM District 11 Directing Business Representative Pierre Grenier. “The campaign was a quick one, we had cards signed within 24 hours, a clear sign they wanted representation to have their rights respected.”
The newest members of IAM Local Lodge 1758 manufacture sub-assemblies, tooling and solutions for the aerospace sector. Their expertise includes welding and spot welding of steel, stainless steel, titanium and aluminum, brazing and induction brazing. They conduct engine blade repairs as well as repair and rebuild components for military aircraft in their facility northwest of Montréal.
