Montréal, QC – The members of IAMAW Local Lodge 2738 have ratified a new four-year collective agreement with Weir Canada.
The agreement which includes a $500 signing bonus provides wage increases of 3.5 per cent in the first year and 3 per cent in each of the remaining three years. Other agreement highlights include:
- Monetary improvements for external work
- More equitable distribution of overtime
- The employer will pay all insurance claims
- Improvements on retiring bonus
The 50 members, who manufacture mechanical equipment, ratified the new agreement by a margin of 92 per cent.
IAMAW, among the largest industrial trade unions in North America, represents more than 700,000 active and retired members, and administers more than 5,000 contracts in transportation, woodworking, aerospace, manufacturing and defense related industries.
