Machinists sign new deal with AeroTek!

Whitby, ON Members of IAMAW Local Lodge 905 have ratified a new collective agreement with AeroTek.
“I think the gains we made in this agreement are significant when you consider what this employer has gone through in the past 18 months,” said IAMAW Grand Lodge Representative Bill Shipman.
The three-year agreement provides wage increases of 2 per cent in the first year retroactive to November 1, 2007, 2.5 per cent in the second year and 3 per cent in the third year. Other agreement highlights include employer pension contribution increases from $15 to $20/week/employee in each of the first two years and from $20 to $25 / week / employee in the third year.
The sixteen members are specialists in producing Aerospace coatings, Vacuum coatings, Anodizing, electroplating and painting components for the aerospace industry.
IAMAW, among the largest industrial trade unions in North America, represents more than 700,000 active and retired members, and administers more than 5,000 contracts in transportation, woodworking, aerospace, manufacturing and defense related industries.
