For Immediate Release
Tillsonburg, ON Early collective bargaining with DDM Plastics has produced numerous contract enhancements and increased membership for IAMAW Local Lodge 2792.
“Our bargaining committee did a tremendous job in light of the current obstacles facing automotive suppliers in this province,” said IAMAW District Lodge 184 Directing Business Representative Brad Brereton. “It’s never easy when the employer asks you to bargain early but our committee managed to not only add new members to their ranks but they were also able to compliment the Collective Agreement in many areas where it was sorely needed. Local Lodge President Kevin Davis, Al Bonsteel, Alex Coffin, Stu Sheppard and Sherry Brown certainly earned a round of applause.”
The new three-year agreement provides for a $416.00 gross lump sum payment within two weeks of ratification and wage increases of 15 cents per hour in the second year and 20 cents per hour in the third year. Other agreement highlights include;
- A letter of understanding that new work to line 1 will bring 75 additional members to the Bargaining Unit.
- Letter of Intent that Pay Equity Committee should keep Pay Equity current with legislation.
- Pension Improvements
- Cost of Living Allowance (COLA) improvements
- Life Insurance, Vision Care and Dental Care benefit improvements
- New Arbitration Language designed to process grievances faster.
- Various language improvements
