Machinists ratify first contract with Excel Technologies

Milton, ON – Members of IAMAW Local Lodge 1922 have ratified their first collective agreement with Excel Technologies.

The two-year agreement provides for wage increases of 3 per cent in each year. The current wage rate ranges from $10.50 to $15.00 per hour. Other agreement highlights include:

• Night shift premium of $1.00/hour
• Improved Vision Care Benefit (eye glasses $200/2 years)
• Hearing Aids ($500/5 years)
• Employer pays 80 per cent of Basic and Preventative Dental Care coverage to a maximum of $1,500/year and 50 per cent of Major Dental Care coverage to a maximum of $1,500/year
• Treatments by allied health professionals to a maximum of $350/year

The 25 members package and distribute hardware accessories for the Canadian furniture industry.
