Machinists Ink four-year deal with Weir Canada!

Mississauga, ON Members of IAMAW Local Lodge 1922 have ratified a new collective agreement with Weir Canada Incorporated.
The new four-year deal provides wage increases of 3.5 per cent in the first year and 3 per cent in each of the remaining three years. Other agreement highlights include:
- A $2/hour premium for afternoon shift workers
- A $2.70/hour premium for evening shift workers
- A lead-hand premium increase of $ .15/hour
- A on customer-site premium of $ .20/hour in 2008 and 2010
- Meal allowance increase
- Scope clause maintains the collective agreement if company relocates within 100 kilometres of current location
- Seniority provisions now in place at all four Weir Canada locations
- Pension plan replaced with RRSP contributions
The 37 members employed by the industrial pump manufacturer consist of millwrights, assemblers, painters, technicians and warehouse personnel.
