Machinists ratify new Lounsbury Agreement

Bathurst, NB – Members of IAMAW Local Lodge 2418 have ratified a new collective agreement with Lounsbury Automotive Limited.

  • The new four-year agreement provides wage increases of $ 15/hour plus 2 per cent in the first year, 1.5 per cent in the second year, 1.5 per cent in the third year and 2 per cent in the fourth year. Other agreement highlights include:
  • Technicians, Utility, Body Men and Parts Clerks receive a $100 allowance for boots, safety items and tools in each year of the agreement
  • Two pairs of mechanics gloves provided to technicians each year
  • Grease Rack classification changed to Mechanic Quick Service
  • Goodwrench Mechanic classification changed to Mechanic Menu Item
  • Safety meeting dates and minutes will now be posted in lunch room  

The 14 members include mechanics, technicians, paint shop staff, body men, utility men, parts department and clerical staff. Lounsbury is one of four automotive dealerships in New Brunswick represented by the Machinists.

IAMAW, among the largest industrial trade unions in North America, represents more than 700,000 active and retired members, and administers more than 5,000 contracts in transportation, woodworking, aerospace, manufacturing and defense related industries.
