Machinists ink new deal with Cedarcroft

Stratford, ON – Members of IAMAW Local Lodge 1927, employed at the Cedarcroft Nursing Home, have a new collective agreement with ELM Management.

The three-year agreement provides for a wage increase of 3 per cent in each year. Full-time and part-time employees received a signing bonus of $500.00 and $250.00 respectively. Other agreement highlights include:

  • Increased sick day premiums for full-time employees
  • Part-time employees receive three paid sick days for the first time

The 50 members who provide private care services to the elderly include dietary aides, nurse’s aides, registered practical nurses, housekeeping, laundry and kitchen staff.

The IAMAW represents more than 700,000 active and retired members in North America and administers more than 5,000 contracts in transportation, woodworking, aerospace, manufacturing and defense-related industries.
