Montréal QC – The members of IAMAW Local Lodge 2727 have a new four-year collective agreement with Kraft Foods.
The new agreement provides wage increases of 75 cents an hour in each year and RRSP contributions of five cents an hour in each year from the current $1.90 per hour to $2.10 per hour by 2009.
Other agreement highlights include:
- Increased shift premiums for Lead Hands and A-4 class electricians
- Increased tool allowances
- Early retirement provisions for up to five members a year who are age 60 or older with a minimum of 20 years service. Eligible members will receive a $15,000 bonus if they retire during the life of the agreement beginning January 1, 2007
- Improvements to vacation selections and the number of members eligible for the same selection periods
- Addition of complaint step to grievance procedure
- Clarification of layoff procedures
The 60 members ratified the new deal by a margin of 84 per cent.
