Montreal, QC – Members of IAMAW Local Lodge 2301 have ratified a new three-year collective agreement with CAFAS ULC Inc.

The new agreement provides a new wage scale for full time workers and significant wage increases for part time workers. Other agreement highlights include;

  • Vacation improvements – 6 weeks for 25 years of service and 5 weeks for 20 years of service
  • Significant benefit coverage improvements
  • Year-end conversation of unused sick pay equal to 2 hours pay per unused day
  • Recall rights extended to four years
  • Introduction of Employee Assistance Program
  • $2 per hour ‘tank farm’ operator premium
  • Significant RRSP contribution increases
  • Reduced work week options for workers age 60 or older with no loss of benefits
  • Improved contract language which ensures union dues protection in case of company bankruptcy

 “Our goal was to obtain a negotiated agreement and avoid binding arbitration if possible as per a stability agreement and I think the 64 per cent ratification margin shows our members are satisfied,” said Michel Pelot IAMAW District Lodge 140 General Chair person. The 70 members provide aircraft fueling services at Pierre Trudeau and Mirabel airports in Montreal.
