Sherbrooke, QC, - The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace workers (IAMAW-QFL-CLC) is pleased to announce the filing for certification to represent the 123 workers at Usinatech in Melbourne, Québec.
The Usinatech workers will join Local Lodge 922 of the IAMAW in Sherbrooke, Québec. Local Lodge 922 proudly already services the workers of “ICP, Sherwood, OMH, Xérium, AMF, Groupe Gaudreau, Sherbrooke QFLRC and Thetford Foundry”.
The success of this unionization campaign is mainly the result of the incredible determination of the “Usinatech recruiting team” who maintained the winning spirit for a period of nine months. Supported by apprentice organizer Denis Boudreau, Grand lodge Representative Mario Clermont, Quebec Coordinator Gilles Brosseau and the recruitment team of Local Lodge 922, this long fight finally became a “victory” for these deserving workers.
The Usinatech workers primarily do machining sub contract work for “Bombardier Recreational Products” in Valcourt, Quebec. They proudly are joining more than 700,000 workers of the IAMAW in North America who work in many different sectors of activities. Our members build airplanes, engines, home appliances, electric turbines, hockey sticks and even Harley Davidson bikes.
The IAMAW is happy and proud to welcome the Workers of Usinatech...Welcome Brothers and Sisters!
