Brampton, ON Machinists have ratified a new four-year agreement with EKWA Swiss Steel.
The new agreement provides wage increases of 2.8 per cent in each year of the contract and RSP contributions of $ .67 per hour. “We were also able to gain improved language in relocation protection clauses,” said IAMAW District 78 Directing Business Representative Gary Hynes. “This agreement gives our members job security for the next four years,” added Hynes. The average wage is now $24 per hour.
The 19 members of IAMAW Local Lodge 2243 are employed as metal cutters by the steel fabricator located in Brampton.
