Toronto ON Members of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers have ratified a new three-year agreement with Field Aviation at Toronto’s Pearson Airport.
The agreement provides for a signing bonus of $1,250 as well as wage increases of 5 per cent in the first year and 3 per cent in the second and third years respectively. The current wage scale ranges from $18 to $28.80 an hour. The agreement also provides for increased vision benefits of $300 every two years. The 40 members of IAMAW Local Lodge 2413 perform a full range of aircraft mechanical services including heavy maintenance checks, airframe structural repairs and modifications, interior and exterior refinishing and reconfiguration as well as avionics upgrades.
The IAMAW is among the largest industrial trade unions in North America and represents more than 700,000 active and retired members and administers more than 5,000 contracts in transportation, woodworking, aerospace, manufacturing and defense related industries.
