Machinists Ratify New Deal with Cullen Diesel Power Group

Surrey, BC – Members of IAM Local Lodge 692 have ratified a new three-year collective agreement with Cullen Diesel Power Group.
 
The agreement provides for wage increases of 3 per cent in each year. Other agreement highlights include :
Letter of Understanding implemented-four days on four days off – 12 hour shift premium increased to $2.00/hour
Dental cap increase to $2,500.00/year
Dental Plan B increased to 75 per cent
Orthodontics coverage of $2,500.00 per dependent family member
Weekly indemnity increased to $600.00/week
New Mining premium of $1.00/hour paid to mechanical employees whenever they are working at a customer mine-site
Retirement Savings Plan increased $ .15/hour in the first year retroactive to March 1, 2013, $ .10/hour in the second and third year respectively
Meal allowance increased to $17.00
Guild training rate increases by 3 per cent, same as per yearly percentage increase
Tool Allowance increased to $450../calendar year
Probationary period for new hires is now 1040 hours worked inclusive of overtime hours
 
 
The 125 members consist of mechanics, welders and helpers who are part of a poly-party agreement with the Teamsters International who represent 35 parts department personnel at Cullen Diesel Power locations in Surrey, Penticton, Nanaimo, Cranbrook, Sparwood and Kamloops British Columbia.
