Machinists Ratify Five-Year Deal with L-3 MAS Canada!

Montréal, QC – The members of IAM Local Lodge 712 have ratified a new 5-year collective agreement with L-3 MAS Canada Inc.
The new agreement will provide wage increases of 2 per cent in a forfeiter amount in the first year, 2 per cent in the second and third year, 2.25 per cent in the fourth year and 2.5 per cent in the fifth year. Other agreement highlights include :
• Improved seniority clause
• Modification of occasional absentee (paid 100 % if used or not)
• Modification of the collective insurance
• Reduction of union leave for local representatives
• Improvement to voluntary layoff clause
• Improved bumping rights
• Modification of disciplinary measures
• Creation of joint working relations committee
• Modification of working hours
• Freeze on premiums for duration of agreement
• Maintaining pension plan with modifications
• Modification of complementary advantage of retirement (health care of retires up to age 65)
The 200 members provide maintenance services, repair of components of civil and military aircraft including the CF-18 and the Australian F-18. They manufacture parts and perform the assembly of complex, unique prototypes and experimental aircraft structures in the L-3 MAS Canada facility at the Mirabel airport outside of Montréal.
