Machinists Make Gains in New Clow Canada Agreement!

Saint John, NB – Wage, Benefits and Pension contribution increases highlight a new four-year collective agreement for members of IAMAW Local Lodge 835 employed by Clow Canada.
The new agreement provides for wage increases of 1 per cent in the first year, and 2 per cent in each of the second, third and fourth years respectively. Pension contribution increases are 4.34 per cent in the first year and 5.34 per cent in each of the second, third and fourth years respectively. Other agreement highlights include :
• Increases in Group Insurance coverage for single and married members
• Increased Dental coverage
• Eye examinations for employees and dependants paid in full by the company once every two years
• Eye coverage of $200.00 maximum for employees and dependants every two years
• Premium Pay increase
• Meal allowance increase
• Improvements in bereavement language
• Improvements to layoff notice language
• Improvements to LTD and WCB LANGUAGE
• Lou Fork Lift Operator position negotiated
• Additional classifications added to bargaining unit descriptions
Clow Canada is the sole manufacturer of fire hydrants in Canada. The 47 members produce valves and water fittings used in the manufacture of the fire hydrants.
