Machinists Ink New Deal with Robco!

Lachine, QC – Members of IAMAW Local Lodge 1660 have ratified a new five-year collective agreement with Robco Incorporated.

The new agreement which is retroactive to February 1, 2008 provides wage increases of 3 per cent in each year.

Other agreement highlights include :

Grievance procedure improvements
Meal allocation increases from $10.30/hour to $14.50/hour over the life of the agreement
Team premium improved by $ .10/hour
A provision of remoteness added to mourning holiday, a paid day and a possibility to transfer a day or days for activities related to mourning
Life insurance was doubled at $36,000.00
The new hires rate increased to $11.00/hour
“The membership put its full support behind the negotiating committee led by Oscar Moscayza and Alain Maseé,” said IAMAW District Lodge 11 Business Representative Yves Raymond. “The membership rejected the first offer and made it clear they wanted improvements and the negotiating committee delivered those improvements.”

The 38 members manufacture industrial gaskets and oil seals.

IAMAW, among the largest industrial trade unions in North America, represents more than 700,000 active and retired members, and administers more than 5,000 contracts in transportation, woodworking, aerospace, manufacturing and defense related industries.
