Machinists Get Creative with Brunette Machinery Deal!

Prince George, BC – Members of IAM Local Lodge 692 have a new four-year collective agreement with Brunette Machinery Company Inc.
 
“This is the first collective agreement we have negotiated under the new company that was created in May of this year,” explained IAM District Lodge 250 Business Representative Dale Gentile. “We sat down with management and came up with creative solutions on wages and other issues to produce an agreement the membership was happy with.”
 
The agreement provides wage increases of $ .25/hour plus 3 per cent retroactive to May 1, 2013 plus $ .25/hour on November 1, 2013 in the first year, $ .25/hour and 3 per cent on May 1 , 2014 plus an additional $ .25/hour on November 1, 2014 in the second year, $ .25/hour and 2 per cent on May 1, 2015 plus an additional  $ .25/hour on November 1, 2015 in the third year and $ .25/hour plus 3 per cent on May 1, 2016 and an additional $ .25/hour on November 1, 2016.
 
Other agreement highlights include :
$200.00 tool allowance for apprentices
Increased boot allowance
Bereavement Leave increased to five days
Easter Monday added as a statutory holiday
Family Day included into agreement as a holiday
 
The 10 members consist of apprentices, welders and machinists who perform repair and overhaul work on machinery for the logging industry in British Columbia.
 
Brunette Machinery provides sales and service of a variety of machinery for the Canadian forestry industry.
