Ottawa, ON – Employees of American Eagle Airlines based in Ottawa, are the newest members of the IAM.

“These people were seeking union representation in their workplace and were hungry for a positive change in their future,” explained IAM District Lodge 140 Organizer Sam Jabbar. “I didn’t have to ask twice, it took less than an hour for these workers to sign union cards.”

The 19 new members consist of ticket agents and baggage handlers. American Eagle is an affiliate of American Airlines. The IAM already represents Air Canada, Servisair and Innotech Aviation workers at Ottawa International Airport.

The IAM is the largest union in the Canadian Air Transport industry.
