North Bay, ON – The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers have applied for a conciliator after talks between IAM Local Lodge 2922 and PGI Fabrene broke down.
“The employer has left us with no alternative,” explained IAM Grand Lodge Representative Gary Hynes. “The employer simply refuses to address issues our members take quite seriously, including vacations and time off with family, discipline, recall rights, and seniority. All of these have to be discussed before we get to the monetary issues.” Talks broke down after a month of bargaining.
The 185 members manufacture house wrap, shelter fabrics, roofing membranes and specialty items for the construction and agricultural industries.
