Join the campaign to change Ontario’s outdated labour laws to make it fair for everyone!

The next few months will make a big difference to Ontario workers. Ontario is reviewing its labour and employment laws, with recommendations expected soon.

If we want MPPs to support decent work in Ontario we need to tell them what workers need, and we need to tell them now. MPPs need to know that it must be easier for workers to join and keep a union, and how to set workplace standards that will improve conditions for all workers in the province.

We are participating in a postcard campaign that we are asking members, family and friends to sign. Our political action committees and members will be meeting with MPP’s to present these postcards at a future date.

On  March 7th, from 7PM-8PM, there is a telephone town hall hosted by the OFL. Go to: www.OFL.ca to register and participate.

The Changing Workplaces Review final recommendations where expected to be out this week. This is actually not the case. The final recommendations are being submitted from the Special Advisors to the Minister of Labour’s office within the next few days and we still expect the recommendations to be made public sometime in April.

The term of the Special Advisors has been renewed (unpaid) until the end of March so that they will be on hand to respond to questions by Ministry staff.

As we know more about the exact timing, we will communicate the information.
