Giroux assigned to the Canadian Aerospace portfolio

Toronto, ON – IAM Special Representative Neil Giroux has been assigned to the Canadian Aerospace portfolio this week.

He replaces Gerald Tremblay who retired July 1st.

“I am very pleased that Neil agreed to join the IAM Canada Team as a Special Representative,” said IAM Canadian General Vice President Stan Pickthall. “Neil has done an outstanding job for the union in his work with IAM District 11, and I know we can look forward to great leadership of our Canadian Aerospace Department with his hard work and perseverance.”

Giroux, who is fluently bilingual, worked for over 20 years as a journeyman Aircraft Electrician and Electrical Toolmaker for Bombardier Aerospace before becoming an IAM Business Representative at IAM District Lodge 11. Within his local, IAM Local Lodge 712, Neil held many roles; as a shop steward, grievance officer, and as an Executive board member.

“Neil is a strong fighting advocate for his membership and for the IAM,” explained Pickthall. “He is very interested in the Aerospace sector and will be an invaluable member of our strong team in Montreal.”
