Concessions dropped in New Deal with Pacific Industrial!

Richmond, BC – “The new owner of Pacific Industrial Scale, Avery Weightronix, wanted reduced overtime rates and the elimination of a floating holiday, and that was just for starters, “ explained IAM District Lodge 250 Business Representative Paul Pelletreau. “We made it very clear there would be no agreement with these or any other concessions.”
 
The result was a three-year agreement which provides wage increases of 2.25 per cent in the first and second years respectively and 2.5 per cent in the third year. Other agreement highlights include :
Five cent an hour increase in pension plan contributions in each year
Charge Hand rate increases from $ .35/hour to $1.75/hour
Introduction of a nine-day fortnight  provision into the agreement for the fabrication and welding areas – Monday to Thursday-9 hours, first Friday 8 hours and second Friday off
Introduction of Banked Overtime language
Introduction of Harassment Free Workplace language
 
 
The 24 members of IAM Local Lodge 692 consist of machinists, welders, fabricators and service technicians.
