In that context, there has been a great deal in the news over recent weeks about the availability of vaccines. We now know there are four (4) separate vaccines that will be made available to the public as vaccine rollout occurs across Canada. This has led to a number of questions being
Women make 32 percent less than men;
Racialized women make 40 percent less than white men born in Canada;
For Indigenous women, the gap is 45 percent;
For immigrant women, it’s 55 percent; and
For women with a disability, it’s 56 percent.
Although IWD is celebrated on March 8th, there are so many women whose work has improved numerous lives throughout the world, some of who are our very own, within the IAM. Throughout the month of March we will feature women from different parts of the world and historical eras to remind us that the women’s movement indeed has deep and long roots.
